Welcome to Hai Foods

 New York-based Hai Foods is an innovative food company whose focus is to bring simple and delicious food to market beginning with its flagship health-focused brand, Umame Nuts.

Our Strategy

Our strategy is to seek out and identify quality ingredients and products in cultures around the world that are simple and delicious. We also aim to educate traditional consumers that healthy does NOT necessarily mean having to eat dried cardboard. 

 

Umame Nuts

Umame Nuts is a seaweed nut cluster which showcases a unique ingredient: the Tai Cai seaweed. All natural, vegan, gluten-free, snack comprised of lightly roasted seaweed, organic brown rice crisps and various blends of nuts and dried fruit. To make it more finger friendly, it is bound together with tapioca syrup and a small amount of cane sugar for texture.

Our Founders

Li Liang

Chief Snack Officer

Li’s obsession with food and penchant for tinkering in the kitchen has been passed down to him by his family. The ethos for keeping things simple has been ingrained into his DNA by his father. After working in finance for 7 years, he quit to pursue his passion in food.

Albert Tang

Head of Design and Marketing

Albert Tang has a BFA in graphic design. He has been working as an art director at a publishing company for the past nine years. He brings to Umame Nuts, experience in integrating marketing campaigns, and evaluating graphic aesthetics. He has been crucial in designing our corporate identity, and our product lineup.

Henry Vo

Head of Operations and Strategy

Henry loves snacks. His passion for healthy snacks comes from many days at the corporate office substituting lunches and late dinners for unhealthy, preservative laden snacks. With 5 years in business strategy and implementation, Henry currently oversees business and corporate development and operations.

Jennifer Tzung

Head of Assets and Infrastructure

Jen would often find a void in her life for fulfilling, healthy snacks. Being in real estate for 5 years and currently pursuing her MBA, she's always on the go and is always striving for something convenient and nutritious. She proves to be a vital role for the team in shaping the company's business structure and financial and real estate assets.
